British Council Egypt and Cambridge International Examinations joined parents, students, teachers, and heads of British schools to celebrate the Egyptian winners of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards in Cairo and Alexandria.
The ceremony celebrated the academic achievements of 122 secondary school learners’ awards in the 2016 Cambridge IGCSE and International AS and A Level exams, including 83 awards in Cairo and 39 awards in Alexandria.
The Cairo event was held at The British Embassy in Cairo (UK in Egypt) in presence of HE Dr Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Vocational Education, HMA John Casson, British Ambassador to Egypt and Jeff Streeter, Country Director, British Council Egypt. The Alexandria event was held in presence of Wendy Freeman, British Consul General in Alexandria and Nevine Abaza, Director British Council in Alexandria. Both events were attended by Michael O’Sullivan – CEO, Cambridge International Examinations and Waseem Al Hanbali – Regional Director, MENA, Cambridge International Examinations.
