The Most Historic Scenery in Egypt – Luxor and Aswan

Luxor and Aswan

Egypt should be one of the most visited countries on our planet. It has the purest, clearest, most angelic golden sand seas to exist, not to mention its tremendously splendid geographic location amongst all the other countries. Having a diversity of cities, each city has its own unique aspect, the most beautiful of which is Luxor and Aswan.

The History of Luxor and Aswan

The word Aswan originated from the ancient Egyptian word ‘Soun’, meaning souk or market. In the predynastic period, Aswan was the provider of granite, limestone and quartzite used in statues and sculptures as it ages more than 4500 years ago.

Aswan’s current population is 1,568,000 and is still dramatically increasing.

On the other hand, Luxor is the main site of religious nature, and it was known as the city of Amun and the city of gods in the past days. Many temples were established in the 18th and 20th century to honor and worship gods, which resulted in the construction of 7 great temples.

In the present days, Luxor has not changed; however, new and more discoveries are surprising us each and every day. Luxor alone has one third of the world’s ancient monuments.

The Activities in Aswan

When I went there, I was in sheer amazement and did not know where to commence as there was a colossal range of activities. I started my trip to Aswan with a huge cruise, where my family and I went to Abu Simbel temple and then the temple of Philae, which left us all in an extreme
awe.

Later, we went to the Nubian Museum in the morning and to Animalia in the afternoon, which is a significant yet diminutive museum. Having a collection of stuffed animals and sedimentary rocks, this place was my favourite site in Aswan despite being as small as a fridge.

We ended it with going to the botanical garden, which was an absolute compelling greenery and fresh air with those historic trees.

The Activities in Luxor

The next two days were an absolute picture of heaven in Luxor. Initially, we went to Luxor temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Being soaked with statues, these places were like a drink of history.

On the same day, we went to the valley of the kings and the temple of Karnak. This trip was wrapped up with riding a hot air balloon and watching the sunrise among the fluffy and serene clouds. This part is the most recommended in this entire trip, and now I know why.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Luxor and Aswan are the most beautiful cities in Egypt if you are looking for a trip drenched with sightseeing. In my opinion, visiting Luxor and Aswan at least once must be at the top of your bucket list.
