Key Stage 1

Curriculum

The whole scheme of primary education is based on the recognition that children learn best through exploration, engagement, motivation, creativity & critical thinking.

Cambridge Primary aims at recognizing the learners’ strengths and weaknesses and can be used to support learning and development to enable learners to progress seamlessly into the following stages.

Key Stage 1

In our MNS-British Division, the KS1 programme includes students of Year 1 and Year 2 and is based on the development of the children including their social skills, as well as linguistic and mathematical skills.

Science, STEM, Humanities, Art, ICT (Information & communication technology), Drama, Music, and Physical Education are also taught in KS1, in addition to French or German as a second language and the daily Arabic lessons.

Literacy

Our Cambridge Primary English curriculum has been designed to help learners to become confident communicators. They will learn to apply reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in everyday situations, as well as develop a broad vocabulary and an understanding of grammar and language.

Through this curriculum, learners will develop evaluation skills, learn to appreciate texts from different cultures, and learn to write for different audiences and purposes.

Mathematics

Mathematics is a creative and highly interconnected discipline that has been developed over centuries, providing the solution to some of history’s most intriguing problems.

It is essential to everyday life, critical to science, technology, and engineering, and necessary for financial literacy and most forms of employment.

Our high-quality mathematics education in key stage 1 curriculum, therefore, provides a foundation for understanding the world, the ability to reason mathematics, an appreciation of the beauty and power of mathematics, and a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about the subject.

Science

Our Cambridge Primary Science programme supports learners in developing life-long curiosity about the natural world, which enables them to seek scientific explanations for the phenomena around them. It also provides them with the knowledge and skills they require to access and excel at science in later phases of education.

STEM

STEM is an approach to teaching in key stage 1 curriculum, which removes the traditional barriers between the four disciplines, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, by integrating the four subjects into one cohesive curriculum.

This curriculum aims at teaching skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, decision-making, leadership, and teamwork, with help of our Science 4 us programme and hands-on activities.
